Friday Night at SNIS and eNews from the SNIS PTO

Our Fun Fest event on Friday is rain or shine! Our activities can shift indoors - and the food trucks will line up close to the building if needed.

We are looking forward to seeing you Friday night from 5-7 at SNIS Fun Fest (Rain or Shine!) and wanted to catch you up on a few upcoming things of interest for our Sarah Noble Community.

Curriculum Night and Internet Safety Presentation

Thursday, September 14 - 5:30-8:00 pm

Don’t forget to mark your calendars for SNIS Curriculum Night. Mrs. Bilko shared at our SNIS PTO Meeting that it is highly recommended that parents/guardians attend without their children. That being said, if childcare is an issue you will NOT be turned away if you arrive with your child.

Here is the Curriculum Night Schedule:

  • 5:30-6:00 3rd Grade Curriculum Night

  • 6:00-6:30 4th Grade Curriculum Night

  • 6:30-7:00 5th Grade Curriculum Night

  • 6:30-8:00 Internet Safety Presentation in the SNIS Library

The Internet Safety Presentation by Scott Driscoll of Internet Safety Concepts will cover important information about internet usage among students in grades 3-5. The program shows parents the positives and the potential pitfalls of today’s most popular apps, games, websites, and more.

The SNIS PTO will have coffee set up in the lobby to help keep you running! If you are able to volunteer we welcome your help - you can sign up here.

Sarah Noble’s BIGGEST Fundraiser Needs YOUR Help!

As many of you know - Sarah Noble Intermediate School’s largest fundraiser of the year is a “Fun Run” where we partner with the professionals at Boosterthon to make it a success.

One of the largest expenses related to the “Fun Run” is the cost of supplying T-shirts for every student in the school. We are seeking sponsors to help cover the costs of the shirts - and the deadline is right around the corner on September 15! These shirts will be distributed to 2,500 students across four schools here in New Milford.

Please consider sharing the sponsorship letter below (just click on the section below to see the PDF) with your employer or any businesses that you do regular business with today. We even have a handful of families who want to show their support by being listed on the shirts!

School Photos on Friday, September 22

Flyers about Picture Day are heading home in folders and backpacks - they will either arrive to your homes this week or early next week. Our SNIS individual and class photos will take place on Friday, September 22. Picture retakes will take place on Tuesday, November 14. We are seeking volunteers to help make Picture Day run smoothly - sign up here if you are able to assist.

Reminder about Volunteering

Have you volunteered in the past? Looking to volunteer this academic year?

REGARDLESS OF YOUR VOLUNTEER STATUS (previously fingerprinted and cleared - or just beginning your process) YOU WILL NEED TO REGISTER YOUR NAME AND INFORMATION WITH THE NMPS.

Please register your name and information on the district's form at: https://tinyurl.com/nmpsvolunteer

Be sure to indicate that you wish to share your volunteer status with your school's PTO to make it easier to volunteer as opportunities arise.

SNIS Teachers and Staff have shared their gratitude for the Welcome Back Breakfast that our SNIS PTO Community hosted. We are so very grateful for the volunteers and donors who made the morning possible.

Special thanks to our friends at Starbucks in New Milford who donated coffee when we learned that the SNIS Coffee Urns were mistakenly thrown away over the summer. They understood that a breakfast without coffee was a crisis!

Our next SNIS PTO Meeting will take place on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 9:15am in the SNIS Staff Lounge.
